1st Day in London
After a long trip by coach from Landau to Calais and from there to Dover by ferry, we had arrived at Whitstable and Herne Bay the day before.
In the early morning, we went to Greenwich and walked through Greenwich Park where we visited the Meridian and took a class photo with London´s skyline in the background. Then we passed the Cutty Sark before we went on the boat for the River Thames Tour. We saw lots of interesting buildings like Shakespeare´s Globe, the Shard, the Tower and Big Ben. After that, we drove by Tube to St.Paul´s Cathedral where we first had some free time to look around and then climbed up many steps to the dome. From there we had a great view and saw for example the Gherkin. After our visit to the cathedral, we went across Millenium Bridge and saw an artist who showed us his beautiful pictures which some of us bought. We were quite tired when we took the Tube and coach back to our host families.

Our Beach Day
In the morning, our host families drove us to our meeting point. Then we went to the stone beach in Whitstable where it was windy and cold. We took a group photo before our rallye started. After about two hours, we met at the harbour. Then we drove by bus to Margate where we were allowed to go into an Amusement Hall, an Adventure Minigolf and later to the beach. A few students built a tunnel in the sand and had a sand battle while others played, walked around or just talked. Some of the seagulls attacked us and tried to eat our sandwiches. All in all it was a very great day and we would like to go there again. (Leni, Elicia, Greta C., Palina, Mia, Carla, Karim)
2nd Day in London
After we had arrived in London at O2 by bus, we went by Tube to Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. From there, we walked to Downing Street and Whitehall where we saw the changing of the Royal Horse Guards. They marched with us to Buckingham Palace and we took a lot of photos. We ate our packed lunch at St. James´s Park, and we also saw a sweet little squirrel which was not frightened at all and even took a nut from us. Then we went to our next Tube station called Tower Hill. On our way to Tower Bridge, we passed the Tower of London. Our class went up 200 steps inside one side of the bridge. On top, there was a glass floor with a mirror on the ceiling where we again took many photos. Later we drove by double decker to Covent Garden, which is a big market with many little and sweet shops. There we had time to go shopping and to buy some souvenirs. On our way back by Tube and coach, we were still thinking of the many interesting things we had seen in London. (Dana, Lotte, Zoé, Julia, Elise, Greta D.)
Our Last Day in Canterbury
After we had put our luggage into the coach, we drove by double decker to Canterbury. We first did a photo rallye, which was fun. Then we went to a small museum in the Westgate Towers. There were interesting things in the museum, like statues of knights and instruments of torture, and a nice view of the sunny town. After that, we had two hours to go shopping in the small streets. Later we went to a supermarket to buy things for our trip back home. It was already getting dark, when our coach left the ferry at Dunkerque. From there we drove through the night back to Landau where our parents were already waiting for us. (Nihish, Jan, Lennox, Batin, Luca G. Quentin)
